[Hong Kong - June 2023] Teardrop Hotels’, Sri Lanka’s leading experiential luxury hotel group, is proud to announce the launch of Teardrop Villas, its first foray into luxury villa rentals.  The first villas to be introduced into the Teardrop Villas portfolio are the iconic 41 and 42 Lighthouse Street villas, located in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage Site Galle Fort.

Once voted by UK Tatler as Galle’s ‘sexiest’ villa, 41 Lighthouse Street is a three-bedroom, luxury private villa which can accommodate a maximum of 7 guests. Having undergone a 3-year renovation, the two-storied villa provides a beautiful swimming pool, among the largest found in the Galle Fort, and an intimate base from which to explore Asia’s only living fort.

Originally the home of a 18th century Dutch merchant, 42 Lighthouse Street is a grand four-bedroom villa complete with elegant living spaces curated for an intimate and stylish holiday which can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests. Highlights include watching the world go by on the veranda, or heading upstairs to a secret sky terrace, for romantic sunset views over the Galle Fort ramparts and Indian Ocean.

Like the rest of the Teardrop Hotels portfolio, both these villas bring together the best of historic Sri Lankan architecture, modern interior design and of course the unobtrusive service expected with private villa rentals.

Commenting on the recent development, CEO of Teardrop Henry Fitch states: “We are thrilled to have launched Teardrop Villas with two stunning properties which are close to our hearts. We've seen a growing trend in families that are looking for exclusive use villas in the south, and 41 and 42 Lighthouse Street fit the bill perfectly. These two villas are just the beginning of a collection of holiday homes that will stand out and elevate the luxury villa experience in Sri Lanka. We believe that this collection will also bring the most unique and memorable experiences to friends or families travelling through Sri Lankatogether.”
