Beginning in Galle at Fort Bazaar, guests will be based at a handsome merchant’s home-turned-boutique hotel. The second leg of the itinerary takes travellers to Lunuganga, the world-famous lake-front estate designed by the Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. Surrounded by lush greenery and stunning vistas, Lunuganga offers a serene retreat where guests can unwind amidst the architectural brilliance of Bawa’s legacy. A special experience at Lunuganga for all in-house guests is the garden tour, which shares the story of Bawa. Other immersive experiences in this part of the south include a *morning or afternoon boat ride along the Dedduwa Lake from the banks of Lunuganga or a visit to nearby traditional mask museums.
