[HONG KONG, 8 September 2026] — Cardinal Point, Hong Kong’s bar and sky terrace with unrivalled views, returns this September following a full neo-retro refurbishment built around the magic of sunset hour. After three years of hosting memorable parties and gatherings, Leading Nation Hospitality's iconic venue reopens with a redesigned interior and terrace, a state-of-the-art sound system, and elevated menu offerings.
Cardinal Point remains the highest rooftop bar on Hong Kong Island, commanding an unobstructed 180 degrees of Victoria Harbour. Magic Hour, that narrow window between 5 and 6 p.m. when the skyline turns iridescent, remains the venue's defining moment, and the space is now designed for guests to really soak in the atmosphere.
The space has been fully redesigned around a palette of dusky amber, peach, and rose light, reflecting the shifting hues of the evening sky. Emphasising the panoramic vista, the new interiors feature a material palette of deep burgundy and wine-toned velvet, warm walnut veneer, terracotta tile, and honeyed amber glass, balanced by brushed steel, black lacquer, and polished travertine. The overall mood creates the visual rhythm of an Art Deco revival, marking Cardinal Point as a landmark sunset destination.
The visual identity has been refreshed with a sunburst emblem and compass star, signalling the venue's thematic focus on light and direction. At the same time, the new look improves the guest experience in subtle but impactful ways. New furniture with large, comfortable seating and wide tables now accommodate leisurely dining experiences, whilst the outdoor bar features new blasted stainless steel detailing for a more elevated finish that reflects the light.
The upgrade also extends to the audio experience. Curated by music director Patrice Escalante, Cardinal Point will host a year-round programme of residencies by Hong Kong’s top DJs, alongside exclusive performances by international acts. The revamped sound system enhances the original installation by Devon Turnbull’s OJAS NYC, the Brooklyn-based audio artist known for installations created for Virgil Abloh, Supreme, and Ace Hotel New York. McIntosh amplifiers power the system, recognisable for their signature glowing blue meters. A newly lit outdoor DJ booth forms an integral part of the venue’s atmosphere, bringing energy, depth and an immersive quality to the transition from daytime dining to late-night drinks.
The food menu is an elevated Italian-American brasserie with playful, well-travelled touches, designed for sharing and cocktail pairings. It features an "Always Truffling" section with Skinny Fries (HK$130), Chorizo Cheese Bikini (HK$150) and Mushroom Croquettes (HK$160); homemade pasta including Squid Ink Linguine (HK$200) and Beef Cheek Pappardelle (HK$220); signatures like the Reuben Sliders made with Hawaiian sweet rolls (HK$240), Chicken Parm (HK$200) and the Tostada Trio (HK$220). Made for sharing are wood-fired pizzas such as The Antinori and Adam & Eve (both HK$220); a standalone Steak & Fries (HK$300); Wagyu Sliders made with Ozaki beef (HK$180); and desserts including Tiramisu (HK$120) and Five-Layer Chocolate Cake (HK$140).
The drinks programme mirrors the Magic Hour design story through amber-lit serves and spirit-forward classics. The cocktail menu is divided into Refreshing & Bubbly, Sexy Tropical, and High Spirited, featuring intriguing cocktails with names like Larry Bird (HK$160), Not So Naughty Root Beer (HK$150), and West Face Killa (HK$150).
